Student Policies & Handbook
Our goal is to ensure all students are supported in a professional, safe, and equitable training environment. Please review the following policies carefully. These guidelines apply to all CFMA programs, including:
- Certified Foot Care Specialist (CFCS)
- Certified Podiatric Medical Assistant (CPMA)
- Certified Skin & Wound Specialist (CSWS)
- Certified Medical Nail Technician (CMNT)

Core Student Policies
Attendance & Participation
- Attendance at clinical rotations is mandatory.
- Students must notify the Clinical Coordinator of any absences at least 24 hours in advance unless due to emergency
- Unexcused absences may result in delayed certification
Code of Conduct
- All students are expected to behave with professionalism, respect, and integrity.
- Harassment, discrimination, dishonesty, or unsafe behavior will not be tolerated and may result in dismissal.
- Students must respect the confidentiality of patients, client records and businesses (Such as: independent contractors, partnering practices/ physicians, and their employees.
Dress Code & Appearance

All students must wear the designated CFMA-approved clinical uniform, including:
Closed-toe medical footwear
Protective gloves, face mask (as required)
Name badge visibly displayed - Nails must be trimmed and clean. No acrylics or long nail extensions are allowed in clinical settings.
Refund & Withdrawal Policy
- Tuition refunds are only available prior to beginning the CEU lecture series.
- Once course materials or videos have been accessed, no refunds will be issued.
- Withdrawals must be submitted in writing and confirmed by the Program Coordinator.
Clinical Safety Policy
- Students must follow all clinical hygiene, infection control, and sanitation protocols.
- Any student found in violation of state health codes may be suspended from clinical training until retraining is completed.
Certification Eligibility
- Students must meet all CEU and clinical hour requirements for their program.
- Certification is not guaranteed unless all checklists, forms, and clinical evaluations are submitted and approved
Graduation Policy
- CFMA offers in-person and virtual graduation recognition events.
- Students are notified by email and may RSVP to attend or participate virtually.
Academic Integrity Policy
CFMA has a zero-tolerance policy on academic dishonesty. This includes:
- Submitting falsified CEU records or clinical documentation
- Misrepresenting licensing status
- testing materials or answers
Violation of this policy will result in immediate disqualification from certification, and further legal action may be pursued if fraud is detected.

- Portal access is for enrolled students only
- Sharing login credentials or downloading materials for redistribution is prohibited.
- Use of AI, software bots, or third-party plugins during exams is strictly forbidden.
