Welcome to the CFMA FAQ page. Below are the most common questions students ask about our programs, admissions process, clinical training, certification, and policies.

Yes. Licensing requirements vary by program:

  • CFCS (Certified Foot Care Specialist): Requires an active nursing license (LPN, RN, NP, etc.).
  • CMNT (Certified Medical Nail Technician): Requires an active nail technician license.
  • CPMA (Certified Podiatric Medical Assistant): No license required, but you must train under a licensed podiatrist.
  • CSWS (Certified Skin & Wound Specialist): Requires an active nursing or medical license.

Visit our Admissions Page, fill out the application, and submit any required documentation. Once approved, you’ll receive an email with orientation and portal login details.

Most students complete the program within 4–8 weeks, depending on their schedule and clinical availability.

  • CSWS requires a 2-year clinical agreement with 200 hours per year.

Students complete hands-on training at one of our two approved locations:

  • LA Feet & Ankle Center (New Orleans, LA)
  • Brand New Feet Medical Nail Spa

Yes, if you notify the Clinical Coordinator in advance. Repeated unexcused absences may delay your certification.

You will need:

  • Your approved CFMA uniform
  • Gloves and PPE as required
  • Notepad and printed clinical checklist
  • Clean, short nails (no acrylics)

Students must:

  1. Complete all CEU lectures online
  2. Attend clinicals and complete the skill checklist
  3. Submit all required documentation
  4. Pass the proctored certification exam
  5. Hold an active license (if required by the program)

Yes, your CFMA certification includes access to a proctored final exam. National board exams (like AFCNA or APWCA) are optional and require additional applications and fees.

Yes. If you do not pass on the first attempt, you may retake the exam. A retake fee may apply.

Tuition is only refundable before accessing CEU videos or scheduling clinicals. Once course access begins, no refunds will be issued.

Yes! Graduates of the CMNT and CFCS programs will have access to upcoming business resources, starter kits, and compliance support. Stay tuned for updates.

Yes. We’re actively onboarding new affiliate partners. Contact us to learn how your practice can become an approved training site.

Yes! CFMA hosts graduation recognition events for students who complete their program and clinical training. Graduates are invited to attend either in person or virtually, depending on the event schedule. These events are a celebration of your hard work and a great opportunity for networking and photos.

All students receive a digital certificate within 5 business days of completing clinical hours and passing their exam.Printed certificates are available upon request or may be distributed during the graduation ceremony.

You will receive an email invitation with the date, time, location, and RSVP link.Be sure to keep your contact information updated in the student portal.

Yes. Graduates are typically allowed to invite up to 2 guests. Guest limits may vary based on venue space.

You will still receive your certificate and be recognized online. We may offer a virtual celebration or photo feature on our website or social media.
